FAIRFAX, Va.- The La Salle men's track and field team wrapped up day one of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship in Fairfax, Va.
Jordan Bryan grabbed La Salle's first points of the day when he leapt 6.56m in the long jump to place eighth overall in the finals.
Zakiyy Williams followed behind in ninth with a leap of 6.52m.
Justin Guerre secured a spot in the finals on Sunday in the 60m and 200m races. The junior crossed the line in seventh in the 60m in a time of 6.98. He added an eighth place finish in the 200m thanks to a time of 22.38.
Chris Sanders will compete in the finals of the 800m on Sunday after he registered a 1:55.02 qualifying time to finish third in the preliminaries. Freshman
Anthony Hawthorne also competed, finishing 12
th overall in a time of 1:59.49.
Senior
Brendan Robertson finished eighth overall in the preliminary round of the 1000m. His time of 2:31.03 will qualify him to move on to compete in the finals on Sunday.
David Ozarowski also competed in the 1000m, crossing the line in 2:34.52.
A trio of Explorers competed in the 5000m finals event, with
Bradley Heuer leading the way in seventh place in a time of 15:04.70.
Dylan Titon followed behind in eighth, crossing the line in 15:05.05.
Chris Berry rounded out La Salle's performance in the 5000m event with a time of 15:32.54 to place 17
th overall.
Ache Hall competed in the 60m hurdles event, crossing the line in 8.66 to finish ninth overall.
Isaiah Akil and
Michael Hagan represented La Salle in the 500m event, with Akil clocking a 1:07.21 finish and Hagan crossing the line in 1:08.15.
La Salle will be back in action tomorrow beginning at 9:00AM at George Mason to wrap up the A-10 Indoor Championships. Live results and a schedule of events can be found at atlantic10.com.
