PHILADELPHIA – La Salle seniors
Joe Farrell of men's soccer,
Joey Ravert of baseball and
Emily Fenton of women's soccer were named the Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, respectively, at the Athletic Department's Student-Athlete Recognition Ceremony, held on Wednesday evening in the Student Union.
Also receiving awards were senior softball player
Kendra Heyer, who received the Academic Excellence Award given to the senior student-athlete with the highest grade point average and seniors
Alli Waddington, who received the De La Salle Community Service Award.
Molly Mahon, a four-year student assistant in the athletic communications and video departments, received the Crowley Award, presented to a non-student-athlete who has made an impact on the department.
The golf team earned the top GPA for a men's team in the fall and spring of 2015. Women's soccer won the women's team GPA award in the spring of 2015, while softball captured the honor in the fall of 2015.
Farrell was a four-time all-region selection and three-time all-Philadelphia Soccer six all-star. He earned All-Atlantic 10 honors as a junior and tallied 16 career goals and 48 career points. Farrell is third all-time in games played and eighth in assists.
Ravert earned All-Region, All-Atlantic 10, All-Big 5 and all-ECAC honors in 2015 after batting .338 with 11 homeruns and 44 RBI along with four wins and a 3.80 ERA on the mound. He was also a CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Atlantic10 selection.
Fenton helped the La Salle women's soccer team to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments as a defender. She helped the squad post five shutouts this fall and started 53 games during her career on 20
th and Olney.
