PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's soccer players
Andrew Connors,
Joe Farrell,
Garrett Keys and
Cameron Keys were honored for their outstanding play during the 2015 season at the annual Philadelphia Soccer Six awards banquet on Tuesday night.
Connors was named a Soccer Six All-Star after scoring seven goals this season, including three game-winners. Connors is a second-generation Soccer Six All-Star, as his father Mike was honored during each of his final three seasons at La Salle (1985-87). John McCarthy, Sr. (1979) and John McCarthy, Jr. (2011-13) are the only other father-son duo to both earn Soccer Six All-Star nods at La Salle.
Farrell, who was named an All-Star for the third time in his career, split time between forward and defender this fall and finished the season with two goals and three assists. The Blue Bell, Pa. native scored the game-winner in a 1-0 defeat of Loyola in La Salle's home opener in August.
Both Garrett and
Cameron Keys were recognized on the All-Rookie Team. Garrett appeared in 13 games on La Salle's backline, including 12 starts, while Cameron recorded three shutouts in five starts in goal. Cameron was named Rookie of the Week on October 12 after earning a shutout victory over St. Bonaventure.
Tony Daniele and
Mike Kirk were also recognized for earning Soccer Six Rookie of the Week (Aug. 31) and Defender of the Week (Sep. 21), respectively.
