PHILADELPHIA - Recent La Salle graduate
Steve Zack has been invited to mini-camp for the Philadelphia 76ers in preparation for the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League, which begins July 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Zack started all 33 games at center for La Salle, averaging 8.6 ppg. and a team-high 9.2 rpg. He also blocked 58 shots.
He finished his career with 843 rebounds, which is good for seventh on La Salle's all-time list. The New Cumberland, Pa. native appeared in 123 games for the Explorers, starting 80. He led the Atlantic 10 in rebounding in 2013-14 with 9.5 per game.
Zack also is second on La Salle's all-time blocked shots list with 169 behind Lionel Simmons.
If he is invited to Las Vegas, Zack will join recent first round draft pick Jahlil Okafor in the post for the Sixers.
