PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team scored in the 7th minute and held Saint Joseph's scoreless for the ensuring 83:23 to earn a 1-0 victory over the Hawks for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.
Senior forward
Andrew Connors finished a long run with his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 7th minute to give the Explorers an early lead.
Senior keeper Michael Kirk tallied his fourth shutout of the season with two saves against eight shots while the Explorers tallied their seventh overall shutout of the year. The defense held tough against six SJU corner kicks.
La Salle fired 10 shots on the afternoon, including four on goal, against SJU keeper Bobby Edwards.

Shawn Mearig, Connors, Kirk and Farrell were recognized with a ceremony prior to the game for their contributions to the La Salle men's soccer program.
With the win, the 2015 senior class moved to 3-0-1 against Saint Joseph's during their tenure at 20th and Olney.
