PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's soccer team will play Georgetown on Saturday, November 16 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be played at 1 PM on the Hoyas' home turf, Shaw Field. The Explorers enter the tournament 15-4-3 and the Hoyas come in at 15-2-2.
The Explorers are making their third consecutive trip to the dance after winning their second straight Atlantic 10 title over the weekend. The Blue and Gold enter the tournament red-hot, going 5-0-1 in their last six games while outscoring their opponents 14-1 over that span.Â
The squad is anchored by the A-10's leading scorer,
Kelsey Haycook (41 points) and a defense that surrendered only 16 goals this season (0.73/game). La Salle is the only school from the A-10 or the Philadelphia Soccer 6 to find themselves in the NCAA tournament.Â
La Salle has been ousted in the first round of the tournament each of the last two years, falling 5-1 to Maryland in 2011 and 4-1 to Virginia last year.Â
