PHILADELPHIA – Jason Plumhoff was named Atlantic 10 and Soccer 6 Player of the Week for games played October 7 – October 13, the organizations announced Monday. He was also named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week for his outstanding play. The senior posted seven points (two goals, three assists) in La Salle's weekend conference sweep over Duquesne and St. Bonaventure.
Plumhoff tallied a four-point outing on Friday in La Salle's 3-1 win over Duquesne in its conference opener. He found the foot of
Joe Farrell to get the scoring started and buried the go-ahead goal in the 62
nd minute. In the 85
th minute, the Ellicott City, Md. native helped put the game on ice when he assisted on
Rob Friskey's goal that put the Blue and Gold up 3-1.
It was the same old story on Sunday, as Plumhoff had a hand in both Explorer goals. He assisted on
Pat Sullivan's first career score in the 55
th minute and netted the go-ahead goal in the 79
th minute. La Salle hung on in the closing minutes and finished off St. Bonaventure, 2-1.
Plumhoff's offensive output vaulted him into second-place among his A-10 peers with 19 points on the season. His six goals are tied for second in the conference, while his seven assists are tied for tops in the A-10.
