Box Score SEATTLE - La Salle women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision to host Washington at the Husky/Nike Invitational on Friday. The loss was the first for the Explorers during their 2012 campaign.
Washington's first goal came early, at the 3:11 mark, when Lindsay Elston headed in a cross from teammate Chelsea Archer.
La Salle held strong and defended the huskies for the next 70 minutes until UW's Hillary Zevenbergen scored off a cross from Elston in the 82
nd minute.
The Explorers offense recorded an impressive 11 shots, but despite their best efforts could not find the back net.
La Salle (2-1-0) will face No. 20 Portland (3-1-0) on Sunday at 2PM (EDT).
