PHILADELPHIA - Accolades continue to pile up for La Salle women's soccer as Courtney Niemiec has been named defender of the year by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and is joined by teammate Renee Washington on the conference's 2012 All-Star Team.
 
Both Niemiec and Washington have earned spots on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region teams for their efforts this season.  Niemiec was recognized as the A-10 Defensive player of the year and has been named one of 36 finalists for Soccer News Net's Player of the Year after recording three goals and five assists this season. 
 
Washington was recently named to CoSIDA's Academic All-America team and was a named to the A-10 All Tournament Team after netting both La Salle goals in a 2-1 overtime victory over VCU in the conference championship game. The junior led the Explorers this season in points (23) and currently sits in third for goals all-time (31) and fourth in points (78) in program history.
