Amar Stukes Signs National Letter Of Intent To Play For Men’s Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – Amar Stukes (Philadelphia, Pa. / La Salle College HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at La Salle University, head coach Dr. John Giannini announced today. Stukes will join the Explorers for the 2013-14 season.

“I like everything about Amar Stukes as a person and as a player,” Giannini said. “On the court he is a highly intelligent and unselfish playmaker. He is also a long, quick, and committed defender.

“As a person, he will represent us with great character. I feel he will be a cornerstone player who we can depend upon and build around in future years.”

Stukes (6-1, 165), a first team All-Catholic League selection as a junior, averaged 13.4 ppg. last season. The team captain was also a third team All-Catholic League pick as a sophomore.

He played AAU basketball for the Jersey Shore Warriors.

La Salle (1-0) hosts Central Connecticut State on Sunday at 2 PM.
