PHILADELPHIA - The upcoming season is just around the corner, and La Salle has already begun receiving accolades for the 2012 season. 

Junior shortstop Joe Bennie has been named a top MLB prospect according to mlbdraftguide.com, an independent website that tracks the credentials for the upcoming 2012 draft. To view the complete list of 2012 MLB draft prospects, click here. 

Bennie started all 54 games at shortstop last season for the Explorers and batted .254 with one home run and 22 RBI.

La Salle begins the 2012 season on February 18 against Bucknell.
