2011-12 Men's Basketball Schedule
PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle will begin Atlantic 10 play on January 4 versus Xavier as the conference portion of the 2011-12 men's basketball schedule was released today.
The Explorers will play a home-and-home series with George Washington, Massachusetts and Temple and also host Xavier, Rhode Island, Charlotte, Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure. The Blue and Gold will also make road trips to Dayton, Duquesne, Saint Joseph's, Richmond, and Fordham.
A total of four games will be broadcast as part of the league's television package, including the Feb. 18 game at Massachusetts that will be shown nationally on CBS Sports Network. Three additional games—Xavier (Jan. 4), Massachusetts (Jan. 8), and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 4)—will appear on CBS Sports Network Regional and could be picked up by local stations.
Including the non-conference portion of the schedule, a total of 14 games will be played against teams that reached the postseason, including seven teams that reached the NCAA Tournament. Fourteen opponents on the slate won at least 18 games last year.
La Salle will open the season on Nov. 11 against Lafayette. Homecoming follows on Nov. 19 against James Madison. A total of 15 games will be played inside Tom Gola Arena.
Game times and potential additional television exposure will be announced at a later date.
