Volleyball Adds Three For Class Of 2016

PHILADELPHIA – Head volleyball coach Dave Stever is pleased to announce that high school seniors Elena Lamping, Erin Noga and Kelly Perillo have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the La Salle volleyball team in 2012.

"We are graduating four seniors this year and five seniors in 2013 so we have to replenish our roster," head volleyball coach Dave Stever said. "The three signees are all very skilled recruits that will be competing for court time this fall."

Lamping is a 6'0" middle and outside hitter from Farmington Hills, Mich.  She was a four-year varsity starter at Mercy High School, where she helped her squad to its first Detroit Catholic League title in 19 years as a junior and then a repeat title her senior season. In 2012, Mercy went 63-4 and had a #1 ranking in Class A in Michigan.

"The reason I chose La Salle was because it felt right," Lamping said. "I was weighing my options, but I woke up one morning and I just knew that I had to go to La Salle.  All of a sudden I was just completely sure that it was the place where I needed to be. Now I'm really excited to continue my passion and play volleyball for another four years with my new team."

For three of her four seasons, Lamping led Mercy in blocks and hitting percentage.  During her final season, she was named First Team All-Catholic League, First Team All-Area, Third Team All-Oakland County and Honorable Mention All-State.

Lamping also played five seasons of club volleyball with Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy, which was a National Qualifer in 2011.  At La Salle, she is interested in pursing a pre-med track.  She has also been accepted into the honors program.

Noga, a 5'9” right side hitter/defensive specialist, hails from Berks Catholic High School, where she made the honor roll every semester.

“I chose La Salle is because I love the size, location, and it has my major,” Noga said. “Also, the team and coaches are great and made me feel welcome. I am excited for all La Salle has to offer.”
