A member of the 1968-1969's 23-1 basketball team, Lawrence Cannon led the group with 140 assists and was second in rebounds (147). Cannon averaged 18.9 points per game during his three seasons, accumulating a total of 1,430 points, and was named to All-American teams.

He played in the ABA (4 years) and NBA (1 year), leading Denver (ABA) with 26.6 points per game during the 1970-1971 season. Cannon is a member of the Big 5 Hall of Fame.
