Samantha Schwartz enters her second season with the program ahead of the 2027 season after serving as a coach for a variety of clubs over the course of ten years.
Schwartz joined the program in September 2025. In her first season as the assistant in 2026, the Explorers' tripled their win total from the 2025 campaign and increased the amount of goals scored by 31.
Senior goalkeeper Mary Babbage was named to the 2026 All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and became the first goalkeeper in the program to be named to named to one of the league's all-conference teams since Gabby Antonelli in 2014.
At the conclusion of the regular season, Babbage led the league and ranked in the nation's top 10 in saves (160) and saves per game (9.4). She also led the A-10 with nearly 2.8 ground balls per game.
Senior attacker Sam Klein was one of of 12 players to be named to the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team.
Most recently, Schwartz coached the Hun School of Princeton, where she served as a head coach for the 2024-25 lacrosse season after being an assistant coach during the spring 2024 season.
She also served as a head coach at NXT Sports. Schwartz’s additional coaching experience includes stints at Grit Lacrosse Club, Haslett Youth Lacrosse Club, Vandergrift High School, MI Elite Lacrosse Club, and Relentless Hustle Lacrosse Club. Â
In high school, Schwartz had on to a distinguished athletic career at Irondequoit High School. As a four-year varsity player, Schwartz was a three-year starting defender and captained her senior season in 2013.
Schwartz's athletic performance earned her several accolades, including the Mark Vienna Award for the highest GPA among two-sport girls’ athletes, Second Team All-County honors, and Academic All-American status for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Following high school, Schwartz continued her lacrosse career at Canisius University, where she played as both a midfielder and defender. During her collegiate career, she was a key player in winning the MAAC Conference Championship in 2014, 2016, and 2017, resulting in three NCAA Tournament appearancesÂ
A native of West Irondequoit, New York, Schwartz earned a Bachelor of Arts from Canisius University in 2017, and a JD from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2021. She currently lives in Morrisville, PA with her husband Chris and dogs Luci and Ahsoka.
