Darian Smith joined the La Salle Field Hockey staff as an assistant coach in August 2025. She comes to La Salle after serving as an assistant coach at Rhodes College, where she also competed for three seasons of Division III field hockey. Smith started all 46 games of her collegiate career, earning all-conference honors twice and serving as team captain in 2023. During her playing career, she helped lead Rhodes to two Southern Athletic Association (SAA) tournament championships and one regular season title.
Following her playing career, Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in August 2025. A neuroscience major at Rhodes, Smith also spent time as a Medical Intern at Southaven Internal Medicine in Southaven, MS. Originally from Colorado, Smith also coaches for the Colorado Bears Field Hockey Club during the summer.
