PHILADELPHIA – La Salle University Director of Athletics
Bill Bradshaw has announced that head women's field hockey coach Michelle Marks-Salmi has resigned from her position, effective immediately.
"We would like to thank Michelle for her hard work and dedication to the La Salle field hockey program," Bradshaw said. "Over the last decade, she helped lay a solid foundation that we can build upon in the years to come."
Marks-Salmi recently completed her ninth season as head coach at La Salle and compiled 64 victories during her tenure. In 2011, she was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year after advancing the Explorers to the first A-10 Tournament appearance in program history.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have had to coach such wonderful student-athletes at La Salle for the past 10 years," Marks-Salmi said. "I would like to thank Bill, John, the entire athletic department and most importantly, my players and assistant coaches for making an impact on my life throughout my tenure."
During her time with the Explorers, her teams were repeatedly recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as one of the top academic teams in country.
A search for a head field hockey coach will begin immediately.
