PHILADELPHIA – La Salle volleyball head coach Dave Stever recently announced that Rachel Finkbeiner has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Explorers in the fall of 2010.

A senior at Elk River High School, Finkbeiner is a 6-foot middle blocker who currently leads her team this season in kills (222), attack percentage (.413) and block assists (32). She is also ranked second in solo blocks (16) and service aces (39).

Finkbeiner, a four-year high school starter, was named team MVP as a junior.

The Minnesota native brings a winning mentality to the La Salle volleyball program. Finkbeiner and her Northern Lights AAU team won the AAU national tournament this past summer in Florida.

Finkbeiner has received high praise for her leadership on and off the court from her coach, Pam Gothe. Aside from her performance on the court, she is vice president of the National Honors Society and district vice president of DECA (Delta Epsilon Chi).

Finkbeiner’s career statistics include 525 kills, 290 digs and 161 service aces.
