Explorers Win First Match Of The Season, 6-1

PHILADELPHIA - After the first two matches of the season were postponed due to rain, the La Salle Women's Tennis team picked things up on Monday with a 6-1 victory over the University of the Sciences.

The Explorers wrapped up singles play with five consecutive victories starting with junior Christina Gomez's win at No. 2. Gomez teamed up with freshman Kiara Smith at No. 2 doubles, ending with an 8-3 victory.

Smith and fellow freshmen Brigelle Hudock and Allison Amrein all won their first collegiate singles matches in Monday's win.

The Explorers (1-0) will host Goldey-Beacom on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 3 PM.
