PHILADELPHIA - Junior pitcher Gina Massaro earned Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Massaro pitched a gem in the first game of a twinbill at Saint Louis on Sunday. She held the Billikens scoreless through five innings and worked out of a second and third situation in the bottom of the eighth to preserve the extra-inning win. She held the Billikens to six hits while striking out five.

Massaro helped her own cause by driving in all three La Salle runs on three hits, including two doubles.

She also pitched 2.1 innings in relief in the second game and limited Billiken bats to just one hit.

Massaro and the rest of the Explorer squad returns to action when they head to Massachusetts. They square off with the Minutewomen at 3:00 PM on Friday as well as 12:00 PM on Saturday.
