 Women's Soccer Holds End-of-Season Banquet
Feb. 2, 2009 PHILADELPHIA - La Salle Women's Soccer recently held its season-ending banquet and the staff honored those who took season honors as well as the five seniors on the team. The five seniors on the Explorers squad were (pictured left to right): Dana Giordano, Simone Canfarotta, Jen Broeze, Traci DePasquale, and Amy Grant. Two of the five ended up walking away with some of the season awards, as Grant took home both the Academic (for highest GPA) and Coaches' Award. DePasquale was given the Offensive MVP Honor. Other awards handed out include: Defensive MVP - Ally Kenney; Newcomer of the Year - Jess Hopton; and Most Improved Player - Morgan Golden. As voted on by the players throughout the season, the Women of the Match Winners were Dana O'Brien, Melanie Gamble and DePasquale, while the Unsung Explorer was Melissa Sanger.
Postseason honors from the Atlantic 10 Conference were also recognized during the event, which included DePasquale (Second Team All-Conference), and O'Brien and Hopton (All-Rookie Team). |
