 Explorers Drop Third A-10 Conference Match

BRONX, NY - The La Salle University Women's Soccer team continues to struggle in the Atlantic 10 Conference, this time dropping a 2-0 decision to the host Fordham Rams on Sunday afternoon at Jack Coffey Field. Fordham (4-3-3, 1-0-2 A-10) scored just four minutes into the contest on a tally by Katie Sanchez, then added an insurance goal in the 71st minute by Kim Boulos. The Explorers (6-6-0, 0-3-0 A-10) registered just two shots in the contest and were outshot in the match 14-2. Michelle Verzi registered La Salle's first shot in the 78th minute of play. The Rams' Jen Byer did not make a save in the match, while recording her fourth shutout of the season. The Explorers' Melissa Sanger made a team season-high eight saves, but suffered the loss. La Salle will return home to host a pair of Philadelphia teams this weekend at McCarthy Stadium, taking on Saint Joseph's, Friday with a 7 PM start, then Temple at 1 PM on Sunday.
