Philadelphia, PA - Head Coach Julie Weiss and the La Salle University athletic department honored the six seniors who would be playing in their final game at McCarthy Stadium today, Sunday, May 1st before the Explorers dropped a 11-5 decision to the Duquesne Dukes.

The Dukes took a quick 3-0 lead before La Salle senior Kate Henwood (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) scored the Explorers first goal of the game followed by freshman Emily Bonczek's (Pittsford, NY/Rush-Henrietta) first of four goals to bring the Explorers to within two, 4-2. But the Dukes rattled off two more goals before the end of the half to take a 6-2 halftime lead.

Duquesne then came out and scored the first four goals of the second period to take a commanding 10-2 lead with just under 20 minutes remaining in the game. Bonczek was not done though as she scored three goals in the last 19 minutes of play, but it was not enough as the Dukes walked away with the 11-5 victory making them 6-1 in the conference.

La Salle seniors Marla Falcone (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley), Leah Wheeler (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown), Rebecca Bouldwin (Springfield, PA/Cardinal O'Hara), Kristie O'Donnell (Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Regional), Janet Bollinger (Springfield, PA/Springfield) and Henwood were all honored before the game as they played their final home game in the Blue and Gold.

The Explorers finish the season 9-8 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
