PHILADELPHIA – Head coach Candace Taglianetti and the La Salle lacrosse program have recently announced its newest addition to the coaching staff for the 2010 season. Elizabeth Weber, a 2009 graduate from Loyola University Maryland, will take over as a volunteer assistant coach for the Explorers.

“As a staff, we believe Elizabeth will add another dimension to the attacking and midfield units and provide the players with some personal attention,” Taglianetti said. “She comes from a program with a winning history. Having played for lacrosse legend Jen Adams and my former college teammate Kylie Reade White [at Ohio State], we are confident Elizabeth will make a positive impact on our program immediately.”

Weber will assist Natasha Fuchs, who also enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Explorers, with duties at the midfield and attack positions.

The Moorestown, NJ native scored 18 goals in 16 games for the Greyhounds last season, nine of which were scored in five of the first six games. In a game against Towson, Weber scored a team-high three goals to lead the Greyhounds to victory.

The Explorers open the 2010 season at Navy on Friday, Feb. 12. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
