Candace Taglianetti enters her first season as head coach of the La Salle University Women's Lacrosse program. Taglianetti comes to La Salle by way of her most recent position held at Notre Dame College (OH). Taglianetti was hired as the first women's lacrosse coach in college history and helped build and maintain the program since its inception in 2005. Notre Dame ranked in the top ten nationally in several statistical categories and did not lose a home game in 2008. Prior to her position at Notre Dame, Taglianetti was the interim head field hockey coach and assistant lacrosse coach at Haverford College for two seasons. A 2002 graduate of The Ohio State University, Taglianetti had a successful playing career as a two-sport student-athlete, excelling on and off the field. Taglianetti was a member of a nationally-ranked field hockey and lacrosse program, serving as a team captain for lacrosse her senior season. The scholarship student-athlete was also a scholar athlete award-winner for her academic achievements. Prior to her collegiate career, Taglianetti was a two-sport athlete at Haverford High School where she earned All-Tri-County, All-County and All-League honors as a field hockey player. Taglianetti has been on staff at dozens of camps across the country and will continue to be involved in the development of lacrosse on a national level. Taglianetti holds a Master's degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Kent State University, and a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in Communication. She becomes the third lacrosse coach in La Salle history after the sport was established at the University in 1998. |
