PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle field hockey players Emily SImone (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) and Allison Geiger (Hummelstown, PA/Hershey) were named to the City 6 All-Star Team for the 2005 season. Simone, a starter in all 20 games for the Explorers finished the season tied for second in scoring with 10 points. The senior midfield netted five goals for the season, scoring one each in games against Hofstra, SW Missouri State, Drexel and against Atlantic 10 opponents Temple and Massachusetts. From the field, Simone attempted 11 shots for the season, including eight shots on goal. Against Massachusetts, she tallied a season-high two shots on goal. Geiger, a junior attack matched Simone's 10 points for the 2005 season, knocking in three goals and four assist in her 19 games with 18 starts. Geiger tallied the game-winning goal in La Salle's 2-1 overtime victory at Saint Joseph's, as well as knocking in a goal against Lafayette and A-10 opponent West Chester. Against Louisville, Geiger tallied a season-high two assists; she also assisted on one goal against Hofstra and SW Missouri State early in the season. The team leader in shots, Geiger amassed 40 shots including 21 on goal. She attempted four shots on goal in four games for the year. Simone and Geiger are joined on the City 6 All-Star Team by: Rachael Bloemker and Amanda Mouser from Drexel; Melissa Black, Cara Calahan and Lea Selese from Penn; Nicole Antonini, Lauren Luft and Katelyn O'Brien from Saint Joseph's; Alli Lokey and Katie Stevenson from Temple and Lauren Campanelli, Megan Foster and Rory Rogers from Villanova. Rogers and Foste were unanimous selections with Rogers taking home MVP honors.
