Field Hockey Wins At Albany
TROY, NY – The La Salle Explorer field hockey team won its second game in a row with a 2-1 win over Albany on Friday afternoon. La Salle improved to 2-1, while Albany fell to below .500 at 1-2. La Salle senior Amanda Spalding (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) got the scoring started in the first half, putting the Explorers on the scoreboard with 24:49 to go before the intermission. Just four minutes later, Albany’s Danielle Costello knotted the score after scrambling in front of the goal off a penalty corner. With 14:14 remaining in the first half, La Salle’s Amy Dalrymple scored after picking up the ball off a rebound off Albany’s goalie Marisa Maze. The Explorers took a 2-1 advantage into the halftime, and that was all they needed, as both teams remained scoreless in the second half. Colleen Bolger (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) logged 70 minutes in the goal and stopped six shots, while Albany’s Maze tallied eight saves in the contest. |
