 Rider Edges Explorers; 1-0

Philadelphia, PA -- After a scoreless first half, Rider freshman Tricia Crotty took a cross from Courtney Bertos and sneaked it past two-time La Salle goalkeeper Ellen Axelsen for the game's only goal. With the win the Broncs improved to 5-4 on the season and soured the Explorers home debut with their first game of the season on Sunday afternoon at De Vincent Field. The goal came at the 38:18 point of the second half and proved to be the game-winner. The Explorers (2-8) rallied but could not get the ball in cage despite a yellow card being issued to Rider's Meaghan Schweers at the 60:17 mark which forced the Broncs to play a player short for five minutes. The Explorers are back in action on Friday, September 30th when they travel to Villanova for a 7:00 start. NOTE: this game was originally scheduled for October 1st.
