(Explorers Jump Back In Win Column On Temple's Geasey Field) Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle Explorers jumped back into the win column Friday night when they downed the UMBC Retrievers 3-1 in their home opener at Temple's Geasey Field. The Explorers led from the beginning, with Becky Garry netting La Salle's first goal at the 19:46 mark of the first half on a penalty corner with the assistance of Sara Camilli and Lindsey Tyler. With 3:14 remaining before the break, Camilli knocked in a shot off another penalty corner with the aide of Garry. After the break, Camilli took a pass from Emily Simone to forge the Explorers to a 3-0 lead. The Retrievers avoided a shutout when Julie Moore drove a shot past goalkeeper Colleen Bolger after connecting on a pass from Cecile Banas. La Salle will be back in action next Saturday when they visit the neighboring Penn Quakers at 12:00 noon.
