For the second consecutive week, La Salle field hockey player Beth Carey has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Carey, a native of Lebanon, PA, scored a goal in the Explorers' loss to Drexel on Wednesday, and assisted on another in Saturday's game against Hofstra.

She becomes the first Explorer to be named Rookie of the Week multiple times in a season since current assistant coach Colleen Bolger earned the award three times during the 2001 season. Bolger went on to win the 2001 A-10 Rookie of the Year award.

Carey currently leads all Atlantic 10 freshmen in points scored, with five, and goals, with two.
