Philadelphia, PA - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA)announced the 2004 Division I National Academic Squad and Team honorees today.

The Division I National Academic Squad program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2004-05 academic year.  The La Salle Explorer field hockey team placed 11 players on this year's team.  Below is a list of the players by class:

Seniors:  Becky Garry, Kristy Newell, Brandi Reed, Lindsey Tyler

Juniors:  Jen Rauscher, Emily Simone, Emilie Stewart

Sophomores:  Amy Comstock, Laura Farley, Allison Geiger

Freshmen:  Ellen Axelsen

The Division I National Academic Team Award program recognizes those institutions that have achieved a Team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 1st semester of the 2004-05 academic year. La Salle ranked number one with a cumulative GPA of 3.50.
