 Explorers Shutout Saint Francis (PA), 2-0
Sept. 28, 2008 Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle field hockey team increased their winning-streak to three games on Sunday, as they defeated Saint Francis (PA) at home, 2-0. After scoring her first goal of the season in Friday’s win over Lehigh, junior Kara Harpel added two more goals in Sunday’s victory. Harpel’s first goal of the afternoon came with 16:47 remaining in the first half off an assist by sophomore Adriana Lalli. Nearly ten minutes into the second half, Harpel scored La Salle’s second and final goal, which went unassisted. The Red Flash could not get anything going on the day, as they only managed three total shots on goal including none in the first half. Goalkeeper Emma Ruth added three saves for the Explorers. La Salle outshot the Frankies, 12-3, and also totaled four more penalty corners. The Explorers (5-6) embark on a three-game road trip as they travel to Rider on Friday, October 3.
