Explorers Defeat Philadelphia University, 6-3

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle men’s tennis team finished the fall season with a victory as they went on to defeat Philadelphia University on the road Monday, 6-3. The Explorers now head into the spring season on a three-game winning streak. Headed by junior Jon Maula and sophomore George Gennaoui, the Explorers won all three doubles matches and split singles with the Rams to give La Salle the victory. Junior Matt Rivera won number two singles defeating Tom McAvoy, 6-1, 6-3. The Explorers (7-2) return to action on Saturday, February 7, 2009 when they travel to Saint Peter’s to kick off their spring season.
