ANNAPOLIS, MD - Sophomore transfer Randy Kazinsky carded a pair of 75s as the La Salle golf team opened its season at the Navy Fall Classic this weekend. The Explorers carded a 341-335=676 (+108) to finish 17th at the par-71, 6,528-yard Naval Academy Golf Course.

Kazinsky, who earned all-conference honors at Division II Caldwell College last season, tied for 44th in the field of 91 players. Sophomore Tyler Batory had an 82-75=157 (+15) to tie for 75th.

Junior Sam Venuti (89-85=174, +32) and junior Jake Corrigan (91-100=191, +49) rounded out the Explorers lineup.

Northwestern won the team event with a 16-under 282-270=552 and had the individual winner in Sam Chien (71-64=135, -7).

La Salle returns to the links on Sept. 28 with a visit to the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, hosted by Penn.
