La Salle University's Project Teamwork will host its first field day for students of Logan Elementary School on Wednesday at La Salle's Hank DeVincent Field and McCarthy Stadium.  The event will run from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Project Teamwork is the University's athletic community service organization who, among many other efforts, has adopted Logan Elementary School and works closely with its students and faculty throughout the school year.

Heading the effort are a group of Explorer football players including junior Geoff Nagle, "we are aiming for 100 percent attendance by the football team at the event," said Nagle. Nagle is also optimistic that members of La Salle other athletic teams will participate as well."  Among those who have already committed to the effort are women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams.

Competitions include the 100-meter dash; the 200-meter dash, a trivia challenge, an obstacle course, and a football pass and kick station.  There will be prizes and awards for participants.

La Salle head football coach Tim Miller, who was a driving force behind the project commended the leadership of all of the student-athletes and  Kevin Crockett, Ralph Pierre Lewis, Anthony Perlozzo, Chris Hanson, and Nagle.

Miller believes that "La Salle is dedicated to serving its community and the surrounding area in the spirit of founder St. John Baptiste De La Salle."
