Jonas Jackson enters his second season at La Salle as Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach. Under his lead, the Explorers defense ranked 10th in the nation in total defense, 5th against the pass and 35th against the run. A Boston native, he joined the program after serving as the defensive graduate assistant at Temple University. Prior to his stint at Temple, he served as head coach and defensive coordinator of the Elancout Templiers in the French Pro League in Spring 2005. He will also handle Team Operations responsibilities. Jackson worked as an assistant coach at Arizona Western College for three fall seasons (2002-04). During that stretch, he also served as an assistant coach at Wagner College from April to July 2004 and as a graduate assistant coach at Valparaiso from January to August 2003. The 28-year-old has also worked as an administrative intern for the National Association for Collegiate Directors of Athletics in Cleveland, Ohio and as an athletics marketing intern at UMass-Boston. Jackson was a two-year letter winner at Eastern Michigan, playing tight end and offensive line, after earning an associate degree at AWC. He received a bachelor of science in parks and recreation at EMU in August 2002 before earning a master's degree in sports administration at Valparaiso in May 2004.
