Philadelphia, PA - The 2007-08 La Salle University men's basketball season came to an official end Thursday night with the annual Post-Season Banquet held in the Student Union Ballroom.

During the program Explorer seniors Sherman Diaz and Darnell Harris were honored for their four years of commitment to Explorer basketball with each getting his own turn at the podium, "I've met so many great people and people I have become great friends with," said Diaz, the forward from Trinidad & Tobago.   "La Salle is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone who would ask me."

In addition to being honored for his career Harris was also presented his Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference plaque and was formally recognized for his overall accomplishments which include being named first-team All-Big 5 and becoming the La Salle University, Atlantic 10 Conference and Big 5 all-time career leader for three-point field goals.  Upon concluding his senior comments Harris then presented the Explorer coaching staff with a plaque of their own in appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the players.

Also receiving special recognition were Yves Mekongo Mbala who was named to the Atlantic 10 and NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) scholar-athlete teams, and Jerrell Williams who earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.  Rodney Green also was recognized for making second-team All-Big 5.

Giannini also previewed the Explorers' 2008-09 campaign in which they will return to the Paradise Jam Tournament at St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and expect to open play against the University of Connecticut in the Paradise Jam which also features NCAA tourney participants Wisconsin and San Diego as well as Miami (FL).
