PHILADELPHIA - The Atlantic 10 Conference released the 2009 All-Conference teams today and La Salle Baseball's Tony Negrin was selected to the All-Rookie Team, marking the fourth straight year the Explorers have had a player on the squad.

In just 35 games - 71% of all games played by La Salle, Negrin had 46 hits (fifth on the team), 28 runs (fourth), and seven stolen bases (third).

In conference-only games, he lead the team with a .349 average, was second in runs (18) and on-base percentage (.404), and third in hits (30), total bases (37), and slugging percentage (.430).

The freshman also played a flawless left field, with 29 putouts, one outfield assist and no errors.

Negrin joins Drew Gerhart (2006), John Malloy and TJ Chism (2007), and Kevin Fuqua (2008) as All-Rookie selections.

Speaking of Malloy, he earned an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection after leading the team in average (.329), at bats (213), hits (70), doubles (19), and total bases (113). The 19 doubles was second-most ever in a single season at the school, the 113 total bases was fourth, and the 70 hits were 10th.

He finished second on the team in runs (36), home runs (8), RBI (35), slugging percentage (.531), on-base percentage (.384), and stolen bases (11).
