PHILADELPHIA - Junior runner Andrew Wagoner was named to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team, announced by the league office on Friday.

Wagoner, who finished 46th overall in this year's conference championship, has been a consistent performer both on the course and in the classroom. The Pittsburgh native boasts a 3.9 GPA in his American Studies major and was listed on both the fall and spring editions of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll last year.

On the course, Wagoner was a contributing runner in the Explorers' Atlantic 10 title run. He also participated in the Junior Nationals 10K run in 2007 where he finished 11th. This season, he has a 19th place finish at the Old Nassau Run and a 99th place finish at the Penn State Nationals to his name.

Wagoner is also accomplished during the track season. He finished eighth in the conference in the indoor 5K and 10th in the outdoor 10K in 2008.

Wagoner and the Explorers return to action tomorrow at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional held at Princeton University. The men's 10K race starts at noon.
