Philadelphia, PA- After repeating as men’s and women’s Atlantic 10 Cross Country Champions last season, La Salle Cross Country Head Coach Charles Torpey is ready to welcome the addition of 23 newcomers to his men’s and women’s squads, to begin action in late August at the Haverford Time Trials.

The biggest meet of September will be the Princeton Invitational (9/13), held on Princeton University’s campus, where the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships will also be held (11/15).  In October the Explorers will compete in the Paul Short Invitational (10/3) at Lehigh University, and the Penn State Open (10/17) in State College, PA.

The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held at Charlotte this year, on November 1st. If all goes well, La Salle runners will be running at the NCAA Championships (11/24) at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Newcomers to the women’s team include: transfer Pamela Alva, Kelly Baird, Stephanie Bearish, Samantha Gallagher, Caroline Grant, Wendy Hutchinson, Meagan Lutz, Shauna Moody, Gabriella Spada, Caitlyn Storbeck and Nicole Shiavone.

Joining the men’s side are: Michael Bolea, Ray Coles, Nick Crits, David Hausherr, Tyler Jones, John Lipuma, Breandan Lyman, Andrew Mahoney, Sean Mallon, Patrick McAllister, Sean McClory and Greg Wommer.
