 Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The La Salle men's and women's cross country team competed in the College Brown races at Lehigh University's Paul Short Invitational on Friday. The women ran to a 29th place team finish out of 43 teams, while the men's B squad finished 33rd out of 45 teams. Several Explorer harriers competed in the JV races, which were not scored on a team basis. For the third straight meet, Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Caitlin Storbeck led all Explorer women. Storbeck crossed the finish line 120th out of 301 runners on the 6K course. Her time of 22:27 bested her previous two times by over 1:10. Freshman Stephanie Bearish continued her solid rookie campaign on Friday, as she finished 144th with a time of 22:45. Senior Mary Clare Parrott came in third for the Explorers with a time of 22:55 for a 162nd place overall finish. The B squad ran in the men's race this morning, with sophomore Patrick McAllister leading the Explorer effort on the 8K course. McAllister finished 133rd out of 298 runners with a time of 25:27. Junior Rollin Deas finished second for the Explorers with a 25:58 showing for 181st place. Senior Ellis Wilson rounds out the top three as he crossed the finish line in 26:07 for 194th place. A number of Explorer harriers ran in the JV races this afternoon including several Explorers running unattached. Leading the way was David Alfano, who finished 3rd overall out of 434 entries in the men's race. Alfano blazed through the 8K course in 25:01. Nicole Pearce led on the women's side as she finished 111th out of 368 runners in a time of 23:49 on the 6K course. Below are complete results for all Explorer runners competing in Friday's races:
