Jones Leads Explorers With Second Place Finish at Old Nassau Run

PRINCETON, N.J. - The men's and women's cross country team competed at the Old Nassau Run at Princeton University on Saturday morning. The Old Nassau Run featured three events - a men's 8K, a men's 6K and a women's 6K. The men finished third of 10 teams in the 8K event and fourth of 11 teams in the 6K event, while the women placed seventh of 13 in the 6K.

Tyler Jones led the Explorer effort with a second place finish in the men's 8K race with a time of 25:35.60. The 8K featured seven Explorer runners in the top 20 finishers in the event, including Jones, Sean Ward (8th), Sean Mallon (13th), David Hausherr (14th), Nick Crits (15th), Thomas Fannulla (16th) and Andrew Wagoner (19th). The event featured 99 runners.

Joe Fedorowicz led the Explorers in the 6K race with a 20th place finish in a time of 20:23.30. Kasey Gellar (27th), Kyle Luke (29th), Rob Ricketts (33rd) and Tom Rannalli (41st) rounded out the top five Explorer finishers in that event which featured 60 runners.

Caitlin Storbeck led the women's team with a 28th place finish out of 145 harriers. Storbeck covered the course in 23:28.80. Stephanie Bearish (42nd), Veronica Shanoski (50th), Mary Clare Parrott (53rd) and Colleen Boland (55th) round out the top five for the Explorers.

The Explorers take a week off to prepare for the Colonial Inter-Regional at William & Mary on September 27th.
