Hausherr and Dare Compete at US Cross Country Championships

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshman David Hausherr and Explorer graduate assistant Joe Dare competed at the US Cross Country Championships at Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, Md., on Saturday.

Hausherr ran in the Junior 8K race and finished 28th out of 67 runners. He crossed the finish line in 25:53. The winner of the race, German Fernandez of Oklahoma State University, crossed in 23:20.

Dare competed in the Open 12K race, where he finished 60th out of 159 runners. He finished in 40:52, four minutes off of the winning time. The winner was Meb Keflezighi who ran for Nike, and finished in 36:06.

Hausherr and Dare were competing for a chance to qualify for the world championships. The top six runners in each race qualify for the world race in Jordan.
