PHILADELPHIA - The men's 4x800 relay team broke the school record in the preliminary of the IC4A Championship at Princeton University on Saturday. Several other Explorers were also in action.

Sean Mallon, David Laratta, Terence McPeak and Trevon Rainford combined to run a 7:26.08 to break the record of 7:26.94 set in 1998. They tied for first place with Penn as Rainford and Quaker anchor Darryll Oliver crossed the finish line at the same time. With the finish, the Explorers move into Sunday's final, scheduled for 2:50 PM.

Korey Edwards ran a season-best time in the 800 meter run as he clocked a 1:51.41. He placed 17th out of 32 in an extremely competitive race that saw the top 11 finishers hit NCAA regional qualifying times.

Steven Rendall also competed on Saturday as he clocked a 14.65 in the 110 meter hurdles. He finished 17th out of 29 in yet another very competitive race. The top nine ran NCAA times in the race.

On the women's side, the 4x800 meter squad of Emily Paffett, Caitlin Storbeck, Maureen Benner and Kellilyn Fierras barely missed the cut for Sunday's final. They combined for a 9:02.17, one spot out of the final, in finishing ninth out of 23 teams in the race.

Meaghan Hobson also ran the 800 meters on Saturday as she crossed the finish line in 2:11.37, one of her top times of the season. She finished 15th out of 23, but her race also saw a slew of NCAA qualifiers as the top nine qualified.
