Quigley Sets School-Record in 3K as Explorers Speed through Terrier Invitational
La Salle four-time All-American Sean Quigley broke the 3K school record by 10 seconds

PHILADELPHIA, PA- La Salle University senior Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA) ran a 7:52.47 3000m at Boston University's Terrier Classic on Saturday to win the event and smash La Salle's existing 3K school-record, set by John Butler in 8:02.25 in 2007. With his time Quigley auto-qualified for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Junior David Alfano (West Orange, NJ) placed eighth in the 3K in 8:11.15, qualifying for IC4A's to be held on March 7th-8th back at Boston University.
The Explorer's 4x400 team of senior James Tchabo (Herndon, VA), sophomore Andrew Maxwell (Lemoyne, PA), junior Jared Davis (Englewood, NJ) and junior Steve Rendall (Deptford, NJ) took 10th-place in 3:19.20. Freshman Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) ran the One Mile in 4:10.16 to also qualify for IC4A's.
Matt Mitchell (Barrington, NJ) had a strong performance in the 3K taking 30th place in 8:39.89, while Ed Baynes (Pine Beach, NJ) , ran to a 35th-place finish in the same event in 8:39.94 .
The Explorers will travel to Yale on Friday, February 1st-2nd to take part in the Giegengack Invitational.
