 Explorers Compete at Albany's Great Dane Classic

PHILADELPHIA - Several La Salle distance runners made a trip up to Albany to run in the Great Dane Classic at the University at Albany on Friday afternoon. Pamela Alva and Nicole Schiavone ran the 5,000 meter race. Alva clocked a 19:48.16 with Schiavone just behind in 19:49.05. On the men's side, four runners also ran the 5K. Ray Coles led the pack with a 15:26.95, for seventh out of 21 runners. Breandan Lyman followed up with a 15:32.10 to finish 11th. Freshman Peter Frein was the third Explorer with a time of 15:51.90. Kevin Buell ran a 16:10.19 and Andrew Mahoney rounded out the pack with a 16:19.12. Two men's milers also ran, with Matt Finn clocking a 4:31.86 and John Lipuma running a 4:40.85.
