Jamie Platt

Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach

Experience:
Eighth Season

Jamie Platt returns to La Salle for his eighth season coaching the Explorers. Platt will again assist head coach Matt Nunnally with both the men's and women's swimming teams during the 2009-10 season.

Platt and Nunnally share coaching duties between training groups, relying on a shared team coaching approach to their workouts. Other than the daily coaching duties, Platt assists with the team travel, recruiting, scheduling and team management.

"In order to build a championship program, you need a championship attitude, and that is what Jamie continues to bring to our university," says La Salle head coach Matt Nunnally. "He has an understanding of how to be successful at La Salle. His excitement for the sport along with his ability to teach and relate to the swimmers combines for the student-athlete development."

Platt has experience coaching swimmers from the developmental to Olympic levels. He came to La Salle from Emmaus, PA, where he was the Head Age Group Coach and Aquatic Director at the Emmaus Aquatic Club (EMAC). Platt, like Nunnally, is also a former member of La Salle's swim team.

Platt, who is a member of both the American Swimming Coaches Association and the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, has been the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championship's Meet Coordinator since 2004 and was the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championship's Meet Coordinator in 2007.

Platt currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.
