The La Salle University women’s crew team competed at the Atlantic 10 Championships on April 23, 2005.  The weather cooperated and the rain held off until the afternoon but left the race course moderately choppy.  The race was 2000 meters on the Cooper River in Collingswood, New Jersey and La Salle was entered in the varsity eight and novice eight.

Both boats made it to the petite finals with respectable times in their heats.  The novice boat containing Sarah Turner, Becky Mahney, Shauna Goetz, Rita Brown, Delia Spellman, Sarah Brown, Jenn Sammartino, Jessie Lamont and coxswain Melanie Charles finished first in the petite finals with a time of 8:03.50 beating both Temple and Duquesne.  The varsity boat containing Suzanne Patackis, Kelly Zavertnik, Rose Fisher, Therese Pomeroy, Liz McGrain, Kellie Nadeau, Michelle DeLong, Aimee Nichols and coxswain Kellie Fagan finished second in the petite finals with a time of 7:44.20 behind first place Temple but crossing the finish line behind Duquesne.
