La Salle Dance Team

• Roster

La Salle's Dance Team was originally established in 1980 and was set up as an extra-curricular activity. Since 1987, it has evolved into its own sector of athletics here at La Salle. In the fall of 2005, the La Salle Dance Team became the La Salle X-plorettes Dance Team under the direction of Kim Auletta (LaSalle 05), a previous dance team member and captain, as well as the coach from 2005-2007. The team has now expanded and is getting more and more involved each year. The team is a diverse group of girls each bringing a different style and unique talent to the team. In addition to performing on the dance team, the girls are involved in various clubs, activities, and academia on campus.

The X-plorettes Dance Team performs at all home men's and women's basketball games, as well as campus events such as the Health Fair and the SGA Basketball Marathon. They also hold a dance camp for elementary students to high school students, giving local children and teens a chance to dance alongside them at home games. In 2006, the team was invited to dance at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International's Walk to Cure Diabetes as well as a halftime at a Philadelphia 76ers regular season game. They have also performed at Campus Philly.

Tryouts are typically held in the fall semester prior to basketball season and in the spring toward the end of second semester classes. If you would like information about joining the team, booking a performance, or have any questions, please contact Michelle DeLong at explorer@lasalle.edu.

The La Salle X-plorettes Dance Team would like to thank the La Salle student body and administration for their support this season and we look forward to the 2009-10 athletic season. GO EXPLORERS!!!
